Christian Mueller’s story is a powerful example of how opportunity can transform lives. From a high school student in Franklin, WI, who initially considered a career in the trades, to a political science major at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh and a Winnebago County Board Supervisor his journey is one of ambition, hard work, and gratitude.
Currently a sophomore at UW Oshkosh, Christian is studying political science, public policy, and law.
With a family background rooted in trades, attending college wasn’t always a given. However, his experiences in business as a high school student sparked his desire for higher education. The FFWS scholarship became a pivotal turning point in his journey.
The scholarship not only alleviated financial stress but also gave Christian the freedom to focus on his academic goals. It allowed him to engage in extracurricular activities, such as running for the Winnebago County Board in 2024 and connecting with fellow students through on-campus clubs.
Today, Christian is serving as the Winnebago County Board Supervisor for District 16 and is the secretary of the county’s Planning and Zoning Committee.
When asked what advice he would give to other students, Christian emphasized the importance of embracing opportunities, no matter how daunting they may seem:
“Take advantage of opportunities whenever you can. You never know—you might succeed! Don’t avoid trying just because you think you won’t make it.”
