Students

Put your money where their minds are and expand our state for the good of all. This is just the start of expanding our state of minds. Wisconsin’s public high schools are leaders in the nation, and they do an outstanding job of preparing students for higher education. We are committed to helping ensure that higher education is accessible and affordable. We look forward to the Fund growing substantially as others are inspired to join us in this effort. Upward and onward!

Realizing the Gift of Education We are a private, not-for-profit charitable foundation established in 2007 by a founding gift of 6 million shares of Cisco stock from John P. and Tashia F. Morgridge. Their gift reflects both a love for Wisconsin and a commitment to education. The Foundation is based on the belief that every person has: equal value; the capacity to learn and make reasonable decisions; freedom of thought and expression; an obligation for the stewardship of resources; and the potential to create one’s own future and the future of our society.

We feel that the attainment of higher education leads to improved physical and emotional health; increased moral and ethical thinking and behavior; increased opportunities in all aspects of life; increased civic involvement; increased financial savings; increased philanthropic giving; reduction in criminal behavior; and better care of the environment.

By helping to assure a more highly educated workforce, the Fund for Wisconsin Scholars helps create the economic viability necessary for meeting the challenges that face us today and tomorrow. Wisconsin will succeed in the knowledge and experience-based economy by expanding our state of minds.
